Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

Your role:

As a DevOps Engineer (f/m/d), you take responsibility for the operation of potentially business-critical software applications in a dynamic IT expert team, strongly driven by teamwork. The way of working is based on our ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Configuration, Change Management, etc.) and covers the entire application lifecycle. Coordinating all stakeholders—from the infrastructure provider and application developers to the client/commissioning party—is at the center of your role. This requires excellent communication skills and a highly developed, broad IT operations know-how (infrastructure, monitoring and observability solutions, processes). You will continue to be an integral part of the software development team and bring your experience in automation, infrastructure provisioning, test management, and deployment into the development process. You will be actively involved in team and project meetings, such as sprint planning, daily/weekly, and refinement.

Your profile:

  • A successfully completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or industrial engineering with a IT focus
  • Professional experience in a comparable role or in a manufacturing company producing complex products
  • Good knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), building and deployment pipelines, and ideally experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Experience in software development environments and their methods (application logging, AzureDevOps/Jira, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment)
  • Extensive expertise in monitoring, logging, alerting, and other aspects of application operations
  • Experience with SAP ERP is advantageous
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle complemented by hands-on mindset
  • Ideally familiarity with monitoring and automation of systems, processes, and workflows
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends
  • Very good German and English skills
