About the Role:

ComNet Communications currently has an opportunity for an AV Field Project Manager who is responsible for working with and leading the onsite installation team and subcontractors to ensure project installation meets safety and industry standards. Oversee the project installation as it relates to specific design parameters set forth by the ComNet AV Department, along with meeting project schedules and budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise technicians and perform hands-on work for in-shop fabrication and on jobsites.
  • Train technicians on safety standards, AV installation and ComNet processes
  • Work with the AV Project Manager to identify appropriate technicians and staffing levels for installations.
  • Validate that technicians have all required materials, equipment, tools, and safety gear.
  • Perform site surveys in advance of installations, verify other trade work on which install depends is complete, and confirm site readiness and safety standards prior to project manager scheduling on-site work.
  • Lead installation kickoff on-site and develop work and plan with crew
  • Perform quality inspections throughout install and upon project completion.
  • Ensure company and industry standards and best practices are followed by ComNet technicians and subcontractors.
  • Provide technical assistance to field personnel and sub-contractors as needed
  • Stay current with emerging technologies.
  • Participate in continuing education and training on AV solutions and management/leadership skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to operate company vehicle (valid driver's license); projects may be based in NJ/NY/CT/MA
  • High School Diploma; 4-year college degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the commercial audio-visual industry
  • Current OSHA certification (10-hr or 30-hr) a plus
  • AV certifications a plus (Avixa CTS, CTS-I
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial audio-visual installation
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand scopes of work
  • Ability to read, analyze and understand blueprints and line drawings
  • Experience loading and testing control system and touch panel programs (Crestron, Extron)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Skill in directing the implementation of commercial audio video projects
  • Ability to lead people and obtain results through others
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting demands
  • Ability to train and direct others
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and customers
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to see things at close vision
