QA Engineer – Manual & Automation Testing

Job Description:

Aubrant Digital is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented QA Engineer to join a cross-functional team, covering both manual and automation testing responsibilities. This is a hands-on contributor role responsible for building comprehensive test plans, executing manual, automated, and API tests, and ensuring quality throughout the software development lifecycle, with the opportunity to expand into automation testing as those needs mature.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in QA and software testing, including manual test execution.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, ReadyAPI, or equivalent.
  • Experience validating REST and/or SOAP APIs, including request/response verification, authentication, and error handling.
  • Experience with defect and test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, ALM, qTest, or equivalent.
  • Experience testing .NET or JavaScript-based web applications and services, as well as Windows-based desktop applications.
  • Ability to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Ability to execute manual, automated, and API tests and thoroughly analyze results.
  • Ability to identify, record, thoroughly document, and track bugs, and perform thorough regression testing once issues are resolved.

Should-Have Requirements

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working knowledge of Scrum.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to help troubleshoot issues and conduct post-release/post-implementation testing as needed.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to interact in a positive, collaborative, and constructive manner with many levels of staff.
  • Prior experience in fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environments.

Could-Have / Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Hands-on experience building or maintaining automated test scripts or frameworks, with willingness to grow further into automation as project needs mature.
  • Experience with additional test automation tooling beyond the core stack listed above.
