JOB OVERVIEW
FTAI is building an internal Data & AI Products function that turns business data problems into scalable, production-grade applications used across Aerospace, Power, Accounting, and other business segments. We are looking for a Data & AI Products Developer to be the first addition to this team. You will build and own applications end to end, from requirements through deployment and ongoing enhancement, working directly with business stakeholders.
This is a development role, not a reporting role. You will build interactive tools, workflows, and decision-support applications that business users and leadership rely on to act on their data.
Responsibilities:
Product Development
- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain data-driven applications using Python, SQL, and modern front-end and AI-enabled tooling
- Own defined products or workstreams from concept and prototype through production, adoption, and continued enhancement
- Develop applications within Palantir Foundry, including Ontology, data pipelines, and Workshop, and contribute to custom applications built on Foundry’s SDKs and APIs
- Contribute to AI-enabled products, including assistants and workflows integrated with internal company data
Data and Backend Engineering
- Build data transformation logic and backend processes that power application features
- Work with enterprise systems of record, internal databases, and Palantir to design the table structures and data flows behind each product
- Support automated refresh processes, caching, and performance tuning so applications stay reliable and fast
Business Partnership
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand processes, pain points, and data needs, and translate them into clear technical requirements
- Validate outputs with end users and iterate based on feedback
- Help identify operational inefficiencies, risks, and cost-saving opportunities through application and analysis work
Quality and Operations
- Follow and help shape development standards, testing, and documentation practices
- Support deployment across development and production environments
- Maintain and improve existing applications after release
Qualifications:
Required
- Strong Python and SQL fundamentals
- Experience developing data-driven applications
- Ability to work across data transformation, backend logic, and application development
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows
- Ability and willingness to learn and develop within Palantir Foundry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Comfort owning products through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3-6 years of relevant experience
Preferred
- Prior experience with Palantir Foundry (Ontology, Workshop, pipelines)
- Experience with Streamlit, React, or similar application frameworks
- Familiarity with deployment automation and cloud environments such as Azure
- Exposure to finance, accounting, aviation, asset leasing, or MRO data
- Experience building or integrating LLM-powered applications
