We are seeking a Data Management Engineer to support and maintain actuarial data assets, reporting platforms, and automation solutions. This role focuses heavily on production support, data operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of existing data pipelines, datasets, dashboards, and reporting processes. 

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Data Management to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and availability of business-critical data solutions. The role combines production support, data engineering, business intelligence development, and process automation utilizing SQL/T-SQL, Python, Power BI, SSIS, and Snowflake.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Monitor and maintain datasets, ETL processes, and reporting/reconciliation solutions 
  • Troubleshoot processing issues and data discrepancies
  • Investigate failed jobs, report defects, and performance bottlenecks
  • Support release validation and post-deployment monitoring
  • Develop solutions to automate recurring operational activities
  • Productionize data processes and reporting workflows
  • Enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
  • Maintain and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Support business users with reporting enhancements
  • Optimize SQL queries, views, and transformations
  • Support Snowflake data structures and data movement processes

Required Skills/Experience 

  • The ideal candidate has 2-3+ years of data/software engineering experience working with SQL, Python, and relational databases.
  • Ability to identify data anomalies, analyze underlying datasets, reconcile discrepancies across systems, and determine root causes through detailed data investigation.
  • Experience reconciling data across multiple source systems and investigating data quality issues through SQL-based analysis.
  • Familiarity with Power BI reporting & visualization customization
  • Experience with Visual Studio, VS Code, or another equivalent platform
  • Experience with Stream lit applications a major plus
  • Strong data manipulation skills for analytics 
  • Excellent critical thinking skills to tackle complex data challenges
  • Strong organizational skills and very detail oriented
  • Exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate with different target audiences
  • Resilient problem solving and critical thinking skills 
  • Flexibility - able to meet changing requirements and priorities

Education

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology degree, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems or equivalent
