Your Role

Capgemini NZ is looking for a proactive and customer-focused Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer based in Reefton to join our Cloud & Infrastructure Services team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a global technology leader while working in a unique West Coast location. You'll play a key role in supporting end users, resolving technical issues, and ensuring a seamless IT experience for our client.

Working onsite five days a week, you'll be backed by a highly collaborative team across New Zealand and have access to industry-leading learning and development opportunities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end users across desktop, laptop, mobile and peripheral devices
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system and connectivity issues
  • Respond to incidents and service requests through ticketing systems
  • Install, configure and maintain end-user devices and equipment
  • Perform user account administration and access management activities
  • Escalate complex issues to Level 2 and specialist teams where required
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain clear communication with end users
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous service improvement initiatives

Your Profile

  • Previous experience in a Desktop Support, Service Desk, IT Support or Technical Support role
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Relevant IT certifications (such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications) are advantageous but not essential

Please note: This role requires attendance onsite in Reefton, West Coast, five days per week.
