The Role: IT Business Application Analyst

Venus Aerospace is seeking an IT Business Applications Analyst to partner with departments across the organization to understand their processes, identify business needs, and implement technology solutions that improve how they work. This is a hands-on role combining business analysis with application administration and implementation. The successful candidate will own solutions from discovery and requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. The role will work primarily across Jira Data Center, Confluence Data Center, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft 365.

What You’ll Get To Do Business Analysis & Implementation:

  • Partner directly with departments to understand business processes, challenges, requirements, and desired outcomes
  • Lead discovery and requirements-gathering discussions and translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate business processes
  • Own solutions from discovery through implementation, including design, configuration, testing, deployment, training, and ongoing improvement
  • Work directly with stakeholders to validate solutions and ensure they meet business needs

Jira & Confluence Data Center:

  • Translate departmental processes and requirements into Jira projects, workflows, automation, dashboards, and reporting
  • Design, configure, and implement Jira workflows, issue types, screens, custom fields, permissions, and integrations
  • Develop advanced workflow logic and automation using ScriptRunner, Groovy, and Jira Automation
  • Build and maintain Confluence spaces that support business processes and team collaboration
  • Troubleshoot workflow, automation, integration, and application issues

Microsoft SharePoint & Microsoft 365:

  • Design and implement SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, permissions, metadata, and document management solutions
  • Build Power Automate workflows to automate departmental processes and integrate Microsoft 365 applications
  • Partner with departments to improve collaboration, approvals, document management, and other business processes
  • Troubleshoot SharePoint, permissions, workflow, and integration issues

Microsoft Dynamics:

  • Translate business requirements into Microsoft Dynamics configurations and solutions
  • Configure workflows, forms, views, dashboards, security roles, and business processes
  • Support automation, integrations, reporting, data management, and process improvements
  • Troubleshoot application, workflow, permissions, integration, and data issues

What You Have

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement application changes
  • Strong hands-on experience with Jira Data Center and Confluence Data Center
  • Experience designing and implementing Jira workflows based on business processes
  • Experience with ScriptRunner for Jira, Jira Automation, and preferably Groovy
  • Experience administering Microsoft SharePoint and building workflows with Power Automate
  • Experience configuring or supporting Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong process analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to turn business requirements into working, production-ready solutions

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience with application integrations, upgrades, migrations, testing, and change management.
  • Experience facilitating discovery and process-mapping sessions with business teams.
  • Experience supporting business applications in aerospace, manufacturing, engineering, or regulated environments.
