Full description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Project Manager - Distributed Generation in LaBella’s Program Management Services Division at our client’s office in Rochester, NY.

The Program Management Services Division at LaBella provides comprehensive management services for complex projects and multi-year capital programs. Project teams are established to provide a customized mix of business consulting, project management, financial control and monitoring, administrative, and technical support services. 

The Project Manager II (PM II) serves as a junior project manager within the Physical Security organization and supports the planning, coordination, design, documentation, execution, and closeout of physical security infrastructure projects. The PM II works under the direction of the Senior Manager of Security Infrastructure and assists in the delivery of security technology and infrastructure projects across Avangrid operating companies.

This position is responsible for maintaining security infrastructure drawings and documentation, supporting project planning and execution activities, coordinating with internal stakeholders and contractors, tracking project schedules and budgets, conducting field assessments, and ensuring physical security projects are delivered in accordance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and approved project scope.

The PM II will support projects involving, but not limited to:

  • Access control systems

  • Corporate, operational, and critical infrastructure security projects

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Project Managers and the Senior Manager of Security Infrastructure in managing physical security infrastructure projects from initiation through project closeout.
  • Coordinate project activities with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Facilities, Information Technology, Procurement, and Security stakeholders.
  • Support development of project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation.
  • Track project milestones, deliverables, risks, action items, and dependencies.
  • Maintain project status reports and project management records.
  • Assist in contractor management and oversight activities.
  • Support procurement activities, including preparation of scopes of work, requests for proposals, quotes, and purchase requisitions.
  • Security Infrastructure Design and Documentation
  • Develop, maintain, and update physical security infrastructure drawings, layouts, schematics, and as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineering, facilities, and contractors to ensure design documents remain accurate and current.
  • Review security system drawings for completeness and compliance with corporate standards.
  • Maintain drawing repositories and document control systems.
  • Support lifecycle management of security technology assets through documentation and inventory management.
  • Assist with development of conceptual security designs and project design packages.
  • Field Operations and Site Support
  • Conduct site visits to collect field data and support project planning activities.
  • Perform security infrastructure assessments and validation activities.
  • Verify installed systems align with approved design specifications and project requirements.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and acceptance activities for newly installed security systems.
  • Assist with contractor coordination during field implementation activities.
  • Financial and Administrative Support
  • Track project expenditures and budget performance.
  • Assist with forecasting project costs and schedule impacts.
  • Support invoice review and verification processes.
  • Maintain project records, contracts, approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop project performance metrics and reporting dashboards.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance
  • Support compliance with corporate security standards, NERC CIP requirements, company policies, and applicable regulatory obligations.
  • Assist in ensuring projects meet physical security design standards and operational requirements.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and project quality reviews.
  • Maintain project documentation necessary for compliance and audit readiness.

  • Analyze project performance data, schedules, budgets, and resource utilization.
  • Develop reports, presentations, and project dashboards for management review.
  • Support identification of process improvements and project delivery efficiencies.

  • Experience
  • 2 to 5 years of project management, engineering, construction, technical operations, security systems, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, technology, utility, construction, facilities, or physical security projects preferred.
  • Experience working in regulated utility, energy, critical infrastructure, or security environments preferred.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or ability to obtain
  • Security Project Management experience
  • ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) Certification (preferred)
  • Experience with NERC CIP environments and security compliance requirements
  • Experience with physical security technologies and infrastructure
