Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Associate Project Manager to support the successful planning, execution, and delivery of small to medium-sized projects, or specific work packages within larger, complex programs. Working closely with Senior and Lead Project Managers, the successful candidate will contribute to project governance, client engagement, business development activities, and the delivery of projects within airport, live operational, or major infrastructure environments.
This role requires a proactive project professional with strong planning, stakeholder management, budgeting, and risk management skills, capable of coordinating multiple workstreams while ensuring project objectives are achieved.
- Manage and oversee project planning, development, and implementation for small to medium-sized projects or assigned work packages within larger programs.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Ensure alignment between project delivery and business objectives.
- Support governance requirements and contribute to business development activities, bids, and proposals.
- Support the deployment of strategic procurement and collaborative contract frameworks for complex projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and timelines.
- Coordinate project activities and track progress against key milestones.
- Ensure project tasks are assigned, monitored, and completed according to plan.
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets.
- Monitor project costs, resource utilization, and expenditure.
- Identify and report budget and resource variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and deliver project updates, reports, presentations, and status reviews.
- Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear and timely communication.
- Identify potential project risks, issues, and constraints.
- Develop and implement mitigation plans in collaboration with project teams.
- Escalate critical issues to senior project leadership when required.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Support quality reviews, audits, and project assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate project teams to ensure effective collaboration and delivery.
- Delegate activities appropriately and provide direction to team members.
- Apply project management methodologies and best practices.
- Support project controls activities, including scheduling, reporting, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
- Utilize project management tools and systems to maintain accurate project records and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (BSc, BEng, BA) or equivalent qualification.
- CAPM, PMP, or equivalent project management certification.
- 12-18 years of overall professional experience.
- Proven experience leading the delivery of major projects, programmes, or workstreams valued at approximately USD 100M+ (or equivalent).
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and project interfaces.
- 8-12 years of experience within airport, live operational, or major infrastructure environments.
- Regional (Middle East) experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, and project controls.
- Experience supporting procurement strategies, contract administration, and collaborative delivery frameworks.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software, including:• Primavera P6
- Microsoft Project
- Jira
- Asana
- BIM Platforms
- Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel for budget tracking and reporting)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.
