We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our growing DevOps & Infrastructure team. In this hybrid role based in Osnabrück, you will play a key part in designing, automating, and operating complex multi-cloud and containerized environments. As part of our collaborative engineering group, you'll help build the robust foundational architecture that powers our technical scaling, ensuring high reliability, top-tier security standards, and streamlined deployment pipelines across all systems.
- Location: Osnabrück (Hybrid: 2 days onsite, 3 days home office)
- Salary Range: €50,000 – €62,000 gross per year (plus additional compensation for on-call duties)
- Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
- Language: German (B2 minimum)
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Automation: Automate the provisioning of new system environments in Microsoft Azure, AWS, and T Cloud Public using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), significantly reducing manual configuration efforts and minimizing human error.
- Container Operations: Operate, maintain, and continuously enhance container platforms based on OKD/OpenShift and Docker, alongside the critical applications running smoothly on top of them.
- Cloud Optimization: Ensure high availability, peak performance, fault tolerance, and comprehensive security across diverse multi-cloud and hybrid system landscapes.
- Release Management: Plan and execute deployments, updates, and releases systematically to ensure technical modifications are implemented smoothly and reliably with minimal downtime.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, architectural hurdles, and performance bottlenecks in close, proactive collaboration with your team.
- Collaboration & Standards: Work hand-in-hand with software development teams to build secure, efficient applications, helping establish cross-platform automation and monitoring standards.
- On-Call & Documentation: Maintain transparent documentation of systems and processes, and participate in a compensated on-call rotation after completing a structured onboarding period.
Requirements & Qualifications Must-Haves:
- Cloud Experience: Solid hands-on experience and architectural familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or T Cloud Public).
- Container Expertise: Proven, practical experience operating Kubernetes-based container platforms (especially OKD/OpenShift) alongside Docker containerization.
- Infrastructure as Code: Practical proficiency with Terraform to manage declarative infrastructure deployments effectively.
- DevOps Tooling: Comprehensive familiarity with Git workflows, modern CI/CD pipelines, and structured software release processes.
- Experience: At least 3 years of professional working experience in a dedicated DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform infrastructure role.
- Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in German (minimum B2 level) for all day-to-day coordination and documentation.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Automation Tools: Prior experience working with Ansible or similar configuration management automation tools.
- Environment Exposure: Hands-on exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid enterprise environments.
- Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate administrative tasks.
- Certifications: Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications (along with the readiness and enthusiasm to acquire more with our full support).
- Education: A university degree in (Business) Informatics, a relevant IT apprenticeship, or an equivalent practical professional background.
