Role Overview

The Business Analyst will support Product Control and Finance transformation initiatives across Global Markets. The role focuses on business analysis, process improvement, regulatory change, and technology enhancement within Product Control functions. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Front Office, IT, Operations, Change Management, and senior stakeholders to deliver strategic solutions and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements for Product Control and Finance change initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Product Control, Finance, Operations, and IT teams to design and implement strategic solutions.
  • Support transformation programmes aimed at process simplification, automation, and control enhancement.
  • Perform gap analysis between current and target operating models.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system testing, and validation activities.
  • Produce high-quality business documentation including BRDs, functional specifications, process maps, and impact assessments.
  • Analyse P&L, balance sheet, valuation, and risk reporting processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Support stakeholders during project delivery lifecycle including planning, testing, deployment, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Liaise effectively with Front Office, Product Control, Finance Change, and technology teams globally.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within investment banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of Product Control, Global Markets, P&L reporting, valuation control, and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Knowledge of financial products including FX, Rates, Equities, Fixed Income, or Derivatives.
  • Experience working on Finance transformation or regulatory change programmes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Understanding of project delivery methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of SQL, Power BI, JIRA, or data analysis tools would be advantageous.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced global environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within Product Control or Valuation Control teams.
  • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and regulatory reporting.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, ACCA, FRM, PMP, or CBAP are advantageous.
  • Exposure to Finance systems transformation and data governance initiatives.
