SkyTouch Technology is an independently operated division of Choice Hotels that provides the most widely used cloud-based (SaaS) hotel property management system. Your Responsibilities

  • Hands on software development with an emphasis on analyzing business and technical problems to deliver high-quality system software components.
  • Actively participates within Product and AIDLC teams to design, develop (write code), test and deploy software.
  • Drives adoption of best practices and guidelines for technical excellence, including relevant certifications, and continuous improvement in resilience, quality, scalability and performance within the engineering staff.
  • Ensures the creation of robust and reusable software components and extensible component interfaces during the technical specification process.   
  • Ensures cross team collaboration on design to ensure dependencies are identified.
  • Actively embrace change and adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to junior software engineers.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with AWS/GCP/Azure data lake technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Knowledge of one or more technologies such as Python, SQL, Java, Web Services, scripting languages.
  • Hands-on experience in one or more data technologies: Analytics, ETL, ELT, and Data Modeling.
  • Knowledge of AWS data lake technologies such as Glue, Kinesis, Lambda as well as open-source technologies such as Spark, Kafka and Airflow is a plus.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence applications and data warehouses.
  • Knowledge of Version control systems, such as Git.
  • Use of collaboration tools such as Atlassian Tools, DevOps.
  • Knowledge of AIDLC or Agile development methodologies.

Your Team

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Data. You will have 14 peer teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
