Assistant Project Manager – Civil Construction
Location: Leesburg, VAJob Type: Direct HireStarting Salary: $73,000/year — higher depending on experience
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support civil construction projects from planning through completion. This position works with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to help coordinate schedules, documentation, estimating, and day-to-day construction activities.

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 2–3 years of civil engineering or construction experience, such as Project Engineer, Construction Engineer, Project Manager, or Assistant Project Manager
- Working knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, contract administration, estimating, and blueprint reading
- Experience coordinating subcontracted and self-performed work
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Autodesk
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work safely on active construction sites, including climbing stairs and ladders
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in civil construction estimating, project coordination, or project management
- Experience working as a civil estimator
- Current CQC certification issued by USACE/NAVFAC
- Engineer in Training (EIT) or Associate Constructor (AC) credential in good standing
- Experience with IDIQ, design-build, or task-order projects
- Experience supporting government or federal construction contracts
- OSHA 30 certification
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Construction Quality Management (CQM/CQC) certification
- EIT, AC, or similar construction industry credential
