Your area of work:

Within our Post-Trade IT area, we operate and develop the IT infrastructure, systems, and applications of our post-trading and issuance business. The Post-Trade IT organization follows the Clearstream business segments setup and the technology transformation imperative, ensuring business proximity and further technology convergence across platforms.

For our Reference Data system, we are seeking for a Senior Software Engineer with a diverse skill set to support future Clearstream Reference Data strategy and Digital CSD initiatives. As a Senior Software Engineer in our team, you will participate in various stages of the development lifecycle - from design and architecture through programming, testing, and production deployment. You will be part of a growing, diverse, and dynamic team that values and supports your contribution to the overall Deutsche Börse Group strategy.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software applications.
  • Review code and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Manage individual and team projects and deliverables within priorities and deadlines, coordinated with team and leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders across business domains and locations.
  • Support Functional Analysts and Testers by resolving technical questions and clarifications.
  • Contribute to the Reference Data Strategy and Digital CSD roadmap and implementation.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions.
  • Identify technical debt and drive initiatives to improve code quality and system performance.
  • Contribute to on-call support and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Your profile:

  • At least 5 years of practical experience as a SW Engineer.
  • Programming: Proficiency in Java, Python, and SQL; experience with ETL pipelines and data modeling.
  • Streaming & Middleware Architecture: Practical experience with Kafka Streaming, AMQP, microservices, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
  • DevOps & Deployment: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift, Jenkins, Ansible, Sonar, and Fortify.
  • System Design: Background in system design, web infrastructure, and scalable cloud-native systems.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience developing cloud-native applications on GCP.
  • AI: Experience with Copilot, agent usage in SDLC - Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Curious mindset with the ability to learn and proactively seek knowledge.
  • Open to learning new technologies and helping improve processes and culture.
  • Strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Would be an advantage:

  • Experience leveraging AI/ML tools to enhance development productivity and decision-making.
  • Background in microservices architecture and containerization.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
