This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Financial Analyst, 529 Back Office based in India.

This is an opportunity to support critical 529 education savings plan operations within a global financial services environment. You will combine financial analysis, transaction processing, reconciliation, workflow management, and data quality oversight. The role involves working with operational platforms to ensure account activity is processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and root causes, and contribute to continuous process improvements. Working closely with teams across regions, you will help maintain seamless operations and resolve escalated issues across time zones. The position is well suited to an analytical and detail-oriented professional who enjoys structured processes, problem-solving, and working with financial data. You will also have the opportunity to develop expertise in U.S. 529 plans and financial-services operations while contributing to automation and operational efficiency.

Accountabilities

  • Process transactions, reports, and reconciliations for 529 plan operations using relevant workflow and administrative applications.
  • Monitor workflow queues, prioritize activities, and accurately process account changes, deposits, withdrawals, rollovers, enrollments, and other education savings account transactions.
  • Support the onboarding and ongoing maintenance of 529 plan accounts, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, compliant, and audit-ready.
  • Analyze operational data and financial transactions to identify trends, recurring issues, root causes, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of dashboards, routine operational reports, and process documentation covering productivity, errors, and regulatory adherence.
  • Collaborate with onshore and cross-border teams to resolve escalated issues and maintain operational continuity across different time zones.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy and integrity across financial and operational processes.
  • Protect confidential client and business information and follow established requirements for secure data handling, transmission, access, and disclosure.
  • Contribute to automation and workflow improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and service quality.
  • Support a culture focused on people, quality, integrity, and professional service in day-to-day activities.
  • Perform additional operational and analytical duties as required by business needs.

Requirements

  • MBA, preferably with a specialization or strong academic background in Finance.
  • 0–2 years of experience in the U.S. retirement or financial-services industry is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Interest in or willingness to develop knowledge of U.S. 529 education savings plans and related financial-services processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a process-improvement mindset.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial transactions, data, and operational records.
  • Good typing and data-entry skills, with the ability to handle transaction-based workflows efficiently.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional and international teams.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and core night shifts when required to align with U.S.-based teams and business needs.
  • Comfortable working in a structured, process-driven financial operations environment.
  • Ability to work from a dedicated and uninterrupted remote workspace during working hours.
  • Reliable internet connectivity of at least 25 Mbps for individual use; stronger connectivity may be required when multiple users share the same connection.
