Full description
The Project Manager – Building Sales serves as the primary point of contact for customers after an order is placed. This role manages all aspects of the customer relationship through project completion, including entering material cut lists, coordinating deliveries, monitoring account receivables, and ensuring overall customer satisfaction.
Core Functions:
- Serve as the main contact for assigned customers, managing all requests for quotes, orders, and credits.
- Review customer-provided cut lists for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and communicate required changes promptly.
- Manage account receivables by following up on outstanding payments and creating plans to address past-due accounts.
- Facilitate freight collection and coordinate COD deliveries to ensure timely payment and delivery.
- Collaborate with customers to forecast upcoming projects and align timelines with manufacturing capacity and material availability.
- Communicate regularly with customers on project updates, delivery schedules, and back-order notifications.
- Monitor contract deliveries and notify internal and external stakeholders of changes while validating job site readiness before manufacturing.
- Address and escalate customer quality or satisfaction issues promptly to ensure resolution.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all customer interactions and transactions.
- Performs other duties and activities related to the department as necessary to support overall operations and responsibilities, even if not specifically listed above.
Key Measures of Success:
- Consistently achieves high accuracy in processing RMAs, ensuring timely resolution and minimal rework.
- Effectively plans and organizes daily workload to meet project milestones and customer deadlines.
- Maintains up-to-date customer records, ensuring all communications, orders, and deliveries are accurately documented within established timeframes.
- Ensure all assigned customer accounts remain current by proactively monitoring receivables and coordinating payment plans as needed.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with production, logistics, and accounting to deliver projects on time and to specification.
- Demonstrates ownership of customer relationships by resolving issues within agreed service-level expectations and maintaining positive feedback scores.

Education & Experience:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or related field.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, or building materials industries.
- Demonstrated success managing customer accounts or project-based sales.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. This role will routinely utilize standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers, to perform the core functions listed in this job description. The work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive reading, data entry, and verbal/electronic communication. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 25 pounds.
This role involves minimal exposure to noise or temperature variations.
