This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Security Automation Engineer (Python) based in United States.

As a Security Automation Engineer (Python), you will build production-grade solutions that strengthen security operations and improve engineering efficiency. You will design Python automation, APIs, data pipelines, and workflows that connect critical security and enterprise platforms. The role combines software engineering, AWS cloud development, Infrastructure as Code, and secure DevOps practices. You’ll help automate vulnerability management, compliance reporting, security findings, and other processes that reduce manual effort. Working closely with Security, Engineering, and Cloud Operations teams, you’ll turn complex requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions. You will also contribute to secure CI/CD practices, cloud infrastructure, and integrations across a modern enterprise technology environment. This is an opportunity for a hands-on engineer to make measurable improvements to security visibility, reliability, compliance, and risk management.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation solutions, APIs, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration supporting security and cloud operations.

• Build and maintain REST API integrations with enterprise security platforms, including SAST, DAST, CNAPP/CSPM, SIEM, secrets management, vulnerability management, and ticketing systems.

• Develop, deploy, and operate cloud-native applications and automation workflows on AWS using services such as Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, and API Gateway.

• Create and maintain reusable Terraform modules and Infrastructure as Code solutions across multiple environments, supporting secure and scalable cloud deployments.

• Design, implement, and troubleshoot GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated testing, security validation, deployment automation, and operational monitoring.

• Embed secure software development practices into engineering workflows, including code reviews, SAST, dependency scanning, secure container builds, input validation, secrets management, and security gates.

• Automate vulnerability remediation, compliance reporting, security findings management, and operational metrics to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.

• Collaborate with Security, Engineering, Cloud Operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on Python expertise building production applications, automation frameworks, API integrations, and data-processing solutions.

• Recent production experience with AWS, including Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, IAM, API Gateway, and related cloud services.

• Proven ability to create and maintain Terraform modules, manage Terraform state across multiple environments, and implement enterprise-grade Infrastructure as Code.

• Hands-on experience designing, owning, and troubleshooting GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing, deployment automation, security controls, and release management.

• Experience integrating enterprise security platforms through APIs, including SAST, DAST, CNAPP/CSPM, SIEM, secrets management, vulnerability management, GRC, ITSM, or similar technologies.

• Strong knowledge of secure software development practices, including vulnerability and patch management, source-code reviews, SCA, SAST, secure containerization, pre-commit controls, input validation, secrets management, and least-privilege IAM.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an ability to develop dependable solutions for complex security and engineering challenges.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, security, cloud, operations, and business teams.
