Mid/Senior Java developers

Our client is an established global gaming technology company developing online casino products and infrastructure for international markets. Their technology organization is focused on building scalable, high-performance platforms that support the distribution of gaming content worldwide.

They are looking for a Mid/Senior Java Developer to join a team working on a modern cloud-native platform. The role offers the opportunity to work on distributed systems and microservices while contributing to the architecture, scalability, and continued evolution of a large-scale gaming platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and distributed backend systems

• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to design and deliver new functionality

• Contribute to improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of existing services

• Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-tested code

• Participate in code reviews and help maintain strong engineering standards

• Investigate technical issues, identify performance bottlenecks, and resolve production or development bugs

• Evaluate and introduce relevant technologies and development practices where they can improve engineering efficiency

• Support the technical growth of other developers through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and code reviews

Requirements

• Solid professional experience developing software with Java

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and modern Java development

• Experience with build and application frameworks such as Maven or Gradle and at least one of Spring Boot, Micronaut, or Quarkus

• Experience designing and developing APIs, particularly REST and/or GraphQL

• Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL

• Good SQL knowledge and practical experience with Hibernate, JOOQ, or similar persistence technologies

• Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

• Understanding of system performance, scalability, and distributed application architecture

• Familiarity with containerized environments, particularly Docker and Kubernetes

• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently in a dynamic environment

• Good command of English

Nice to Have

• Experience working with AWS or GCP

• Experience developing or maintaining frontend components that interact with backend APIs

• Basic knowledge of HTML, TypeScript, Angular, or React

• Experience working on highly scalable or cloud-native platforms

• Previous experience in gaming, iGaming, or another high-volume digital product environment
