To strengthen our team in Milan we are currently looking for a:

Senior BE Developer (Java)

We are looking for a Senior Back-End Developer to join our Engineering team and contribute to the design, development and evolution of our digital wealth management platform.

In this role, you will build secure, scalable and high-performing back-end services, working closely with product managers, architects and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions for financial institutions.

Main Activities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable back-end services using Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
  • Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices and coding standards.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external services.
  • Contribute to the evolution of cloud-native applications deployed on Kubernetes and AWS environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, resilience and reliability.
  • Apply secure coding principles and contribute to the implementation of solutions compliant with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to continuously improve engineering practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex production and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD pipelines and software quality practices.

Candidate's Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in back-end software development using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWS in production environments.
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, secure coding principles and engineering best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Italian.
  • Background in fintech, banking or regulated software environments is a genuine advantage.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka or RabbitMQ).
  • Familiarity with authentication and security standards (e.g. OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).
  • Experience with automated testing, observability or Infrastructure as Code tools.
