Job Description

ROLE SUMMARY

Network Engineer is responsible for stable, secure, and efficient network operations for enterprise customers through proactive Day 2 support and Level 2 technical expertise. The role focuses on timely incident resolution, maintaining high service availability, supporting changes and maintenance activities, and strengthening operational capability across Huawei NCE Campus and other supported network and security platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Level 2 support for Huawei NCE Campus network infrastructure and other supported enterprise networking platforms.
  • Ensure timely incident resolution and service restoration for customer environments, with clear diagnostics and escalation where required.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and recommend preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate network configurations, operational records, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with Day 1, cybersecurity, service management, and project teams to ensure seamless service delivery and effective handovers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents involving switching, routing, wireless, access control, and firewall environments.
  • Perform configuration updates, firmware upgrades, and planned maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures and change controls.
  • Conduct periodic health checks, monitoring, and performance analysis to identify and address potential service disruptions.
  • Support integration and interoperability testing with additional network platforms and products where required.
  • Provide technical reports, update service tickets, maintain operational records, and contribute to service reviews and operational meetings.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years of experience in network operations, managed services, or medium-sized campus / enterprise network environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Huawei NCE Campus, with practical experience supporting network incidents, changes, and day-to-day operations.
  • Working knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN, IP addressing, VLANs, switching, routing, network access control, and enterprise connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on exposure to one or more of Aruba, Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, and Fortinet environments is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to perform structured troubleshooting, log and evidence collection, root-cause analysis, and effective escalation to vendors or higher-level engineering teams.
  • Experience with firmware upgrades, configuration changes, preventive maintenance, and operational change procedures.
  • Comfortable working with ticketing systems, monitoring tools, network documentation, and service management processes.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineers, service management, project teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
