About Mimo

Mimo is an AI-native platform for accounting firms. We automate the recurring work inside the monthly close, from chasing client documents and reconciling transactions to posting adjustments and reviewing VAT before it is filed, so accountants spend their time on judgement instead of admin.

Accounting is being rebuilt around AI right now. We intend to be the ones who rebuild it, and to help the firms that get there first do the best work of their careers. We are a team of 35 across Stockholm and London, backed by top European investors including Northzone and Project A, growing rapidly across the UK's top 10-250 firms, with new markets next.

The role

Accounting runs on trust and proof, every number needs an audit trail, every suggestion needs to be defensible. Combining that with AI is one of the most interesting design challenges out there right now. Design is how accountants go from manual, repetitive work to directing and orchestrating AI agents, working faster and more precisely, always with a human in the loop.

We're now looking for a Senior Product Designer to join us. You'd join a small design team working directly with our Head of Design, with real influence over craft and process from day one, working end-to-end across our product.

What you will do

• Be responsible for design work end-to-end across our product, and work closely with our Head of Design to shape how we work as a design team

• Plan and run discovery grounded in jobs to be done, staying curious enough to surface use cases, gaps and improvements nobody's flagged yet

• Design for the happy path and the unhappy ones, so the experience holds up when things don't go as planned, not just when they do

• Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure design intent carries through to production

• Prototype in Claude and other AI tools to bring concepts to life and explore multiple solutions to complex problems

• Build and maintain design systems in Figma to enable consistency and scalability

• Evaluate adoption, gather feedback, and translate learnings after launch into the next iteration

What we're looking for

Design skills

• 5+ years of experience in startups, product companies and/or agency environments (accounting software, SaaS, financial services or AI-driven products a plus)

• Comfortable planning and conducting user research (interviews, usability testing, synthesis) to learn from users and turn assumptions into insight

• Genuine curiosity about accounting and finance workflows, or excited to build that domain knowledge quickly

• Figma "native", with strong experience in design systems and prototyping

• Comfortable using AI tools to rapidly prototype and explore concepts (e.g. Claude, Lovable, Figma Make)

• Strong communicator, able to explain the "why" behind design decisions

• Track record of delivering measurable impact through design

• You advocate for design while staying grounded in business and technical constraints

Bonus

• Experience designing for finance, accounting, or other detail-oriented professional tools

• Familiarity with practice management or accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, Silverfin, etc.)

• Knowledge of data-heavy interfaces, dashboards, or workflow tools
