The Database Administrator is responsible for physical database design, installation, migration, and ongoing maintenance of the DBMS. They will also perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and ensure robust backup and recovery strategies are in place.

Responsibilities:
- Creating physical database designs and operates and
administers the database management system (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery
General Skills:
- 10 + years experience in

- In the use of information retrieval packages and proficiency
with query languages
- In monitoring and enforcing database rules

Skills for Case Management and ERP Experience in designing/developing an automated data distribution mechanism
- Knowledge
and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.

in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models)

and understanding of Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practice
- Experience
in impact analysis, implementation planning and implementation of technology or suite specific patches, maintenance packs and releases, and technology stack patch sets and releases

years of proven experience in database administration, including database design, implementation, maintenance and support
- 5+
years of experience in PL/SQL, creating data ETL procedures (very strong) and packages, and query optimization techniques
- Hands-on
experience with DBMS operations such as installation, configuration, migration, and upgrades
- Strong
knowledge of performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
- Experience
with one Oracle and SQL Server
- Experience
working with On-Prem and Cloud Technologies such as Azure and OCI Platforms.
- Experience
with RAC, Golden Gate, Data Guard Technologies.
- Experience
with information retrieval tools and query languages such as TOAD, OEM and DB Artisan

Database Administration Expertise:
- 10+
years proven experience in database administration, including database design, implementation, maintenance and support
- Hands-on
experience with DBMS operations such as installation, configuration, migration, and upgrades
- Experience
with RAC, Golden Gate, Data Guard Technologies.
- Experience
with performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning
- Experience
with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Experience
monitoring and enforcing database rules, policies, and standards
- Knowledge
of Incident, Problem, Change, and Configuration Management processes (e.g., ITIL practices)
- Experience
with database security, access control, and data integrity management
- Basic
understanding of communication protocols and networking concepts relevant to databases
- Ability
to support database connectivity and integration across systems
Technical Proficiency:
- Experience
with one or more database technologies (e.g., Oracle 12c and above, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL) in large multi-tenant environments
- Proficiency
in PL/SQL, creating data ETL procedures and Packages, and query optimization techniques
- Experience
working with On-Prem and Cloud Technologies such as Azure and OCI Platforms.
- Experience
working with multiple operating system such as Linux, Unix, and Windows
- Working
knowledge of one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell)
- Experience
with information retrieval tools and query languages such as TOAD, OEM and DB Artisan
- Experience
coordinating implementation of technically advanced complex systems resources to lower non-production environment
