Full description

The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Corporate Finance (FP&A) team, responsible for supporting and progressively owning financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, monthly performance review, and decision support across corporate functions. The role combines hands-on accounting and invoice review with forward-looking analysis, business partnership, and executive-ready communication. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with division leaders and Accounting to understand results, identify key business drivers, maintain accurate forecasts, and translate financial information into clear business insights. This position is located in our Dallas, TX headquarters and follows a hybrid work schedule.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own detailed financial planning and analysis for assigned corporate divisions, including annual budgets, periodic forecasts, actual-to-budget and actual-to-forecast variance analysis, and clear commentary on key business drivers.
  • Partner with division leaders to understand operating results, challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and maintain accurate headcount, compensation, operating expense, and capital forecasts.
  • Develop progressive ownership of the company’s healthcare financial management, including invoice coding and submission, monthly P&L review, budgeting, forecasting, claims and claimant-trend analysis, funding and rate analysis, variance explanations, and decision support for Finance and HR leadership.
  • Review and approve invoices and expenses for appropriate accounting treatment and coding, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, cost center and account classification, and other relevant considerations; coordinate timely submission and follow-up with Accounts Payable and business owners.
  • Support monthly and year-end close activities by reviewing general ledger detail, investigating variances, reconciling financial activity, and coordinating with Accounting on required accruals, reclasses, and journal entries.
  • Support enterprise-wide FP&A processes, including development and maintenance of common budget and forecast assumptions and coordination with FP&A teams across the company’s primary business units.
  • Maintain and interpret financial models, reporting templates, and large data sets in Excel and Adaptive; validate formulas and inputs, identify inconsistencies, and summarize conclusions for management.
  • Prepare concise, executive-ready financial reporting and commentary that distinguishes timing items from structural trends and focuses attention on material business implications.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects, including evaluating business alternatives, researching financial questions, and modeling the impact of operating or strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to finance process and systems improvements, including the company’s future ERP and FP&A roadmap, with an emphasis on data quality, controls, efficiency, and scalable reporting.
  • Use approved technology and AI tools thoughtfully to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, and communication while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate review controls.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related business field; CPA or master’s degree is a plus.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, audit, or a related analytical role, with a working knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and general accounting concepts.
  • Strong accounting foundation and judgment, including the ability to evaluate expense coding, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and the financial statement impact of business activity.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to maintain and interpret complex workbooks, analyze large data sets, and use formulas and tools such as SUMIFS, XLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH, IF statements, and PivotTables. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, validation, and understanding model logic.
  • Demonstrated analytical judgment and intellectual curiosity, with the ability to move beyond task completion, identify the underlying business story, and independently follow issues through resolution.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial results clearly to management, business partners, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables and projects across departments, prioritize based on business impact and deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail without losing sight of the broader objective.
  • High degree of integrity, discretion, and accountability when handling confidential financial, compensation, healthcare, and executive information.
  • Experience with financial planning or ERP systems is preferred. Adaptive Planning, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Concur, and Workday experience is a plus; willingness to learn new systems is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively, build productive cross-functional relationships, and grow into broader ownership over time.
