Role: Data Analyst, Analytics, Dublin
Location and office policy: Central Park, Dublin 18 - hybrid working with three days per week in the office
What is the role:
The Analytics function within the Data & Analytics unit partners with teams across AIB Group to help colleagues make informed, data-driven decisions. We provide enterprise MI, BI and reporting capabilities, making high-quality information and insights accessible across the organisation.
We focus on creating meaningful value from AIB’s data, using a range of analytical tools and approaches to support better decisions and business outcomes. Our team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and includes colleagues with a broad mix of skills, experiences and backgrounds.
Key Accountabilities:
As part of the team in Analytics, you will:
- Support the consistent delivery of reports, dashboards, and visualisations for internal and external stakeholders
- Analyse information from a range of sources to support decision-making and promote data-driven insights
- Ensure that analytical outputs are accurate, clear, and delivered to the required standard
- Continue to develop your analytical, technical and business knowledge
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues and contribute to the delivery of AIB’s strategic priorities
- Work independently on routine analytical tasks and reporting activities
- Contribute to larger analytical initiatives under guidance from senior team members
What You Will Bring:
- 1-3 years' experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience creating reports, Power BI dashboards or management information for stakeholders
- Ability to communicate analytical insights effectively, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience using Microsoft SQL to retrieve, manipulate and analyse data
- Strong experience with Power BI and other reporting and visualisation platforms
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Excel, including data analysis and reporting techniques
- Understanding of data quality, data validation and reconciliation processes
- Experience working with Azure Databricks, Semantic models, Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse would be a distinct advantage
- Exposure to Python, R, SAS or other analytical tools would be advantageous
Qualifications:
- Third-level qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related discipline
- Microsoft Certifications such as PL-300, DP-600 or DP-900 are advantageous
- Other relevant industry certifications are desirable
Desirable experience:
- Understanding of financial services, banking products or regulatory reporting
- Experience working within a highly regulated environment
- Awareness of data governance, risk and compliance requirements within a regulated environment
