We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Product Manager, who will be responsible for applying leading product management skills to home lending products, to ensure policies and processes are safe and fit for purpose. You’ll be the subject matter expert in product and technology solutions, and implementation of new functionality into frontline channels and platforms. 

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role   

We sat down with the Head of Home Lending (Who you’ll report to), and they let us know the following about the tūranga (role):  

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Auckland. This is a hybrid position with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly. 

What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?  

  • Shape an inspiring product vision that supports BNZ’s home lending strategy and delivers better outcomes for customers. 
  • Design and implement product, process, and system solutions that enhance the customer experience across frontline channels and platforms. 
  • Develop and improve key customer journeys, identifying opportunities to simplify processes and create more seamless experiences. 
  • Analyse and monitor product performance metrics to ensure products remain fit for purpose, compliant, and aligned to BNZ’s strategic priorities. 
  • Engage and influence stakeholders across the business to deliver change, manage dependencies, and support successful implementation.

This role is about shaping the future experience for our customers. You get be part of the transformation agenda and help develop junior members of the team. 

What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity? 

Delivering outcomes to meet deadlines and creating new pathways to achieve the outcomes needed. 

What attributes will this person display to be successful in this role?  

The ability to think critically. We are looking for someone with the technical ability to develop solutions across business and platform processes. The solutions also need to work within the construct of regulation and ensure a great customer experience. The following experience is also beneficial: 

  • 8+ years’ experience in financial services, banking, customer service, and/or product management. 
  • Strong experience contributing to product and process improvement initiatives.  
  • Ability to analyse data and translate insights into clear recommendations.  
  • Experience in transformation projects, including an understanding of technology platforms and capabilities without needing to build the technical solutions themselves. 
  • Project management experience and a strategic mindset will be beneficial. 
  • Deadline driven with high level of accuracy and planning skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Ability to work under pressure with a collaborative mindset.
