We’re looking for a Social-First Graphic Designer who can bring ideas to life through strong visual storytelling, animation and motion-led content. This is not a traditional graphic design role. We’re looking for someone who understands how people consume content on social and can create scroll-stopping, platform-native content across static, animated and video formats.
What You’ll Be Doing
Social-First Creative
- Social-First Concepting: Develop creative concepts and content ideas specifically designed for social platforms and their audiences.
- Scroll-Stopping Content: Create engaging, visually strong content across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and other platforms.
- Platform & Trend Awareness: Adapt creative to platform formats, behaviours and trends, creating content that feels native rather than repurposed.
Graphic Design & Visual Content
- Design: Create high-quality static and animated digital assets across social, campaigns, presentations and branded content.
- Brand: Develop fresh visual concepts that align with client brand guidelines and creative direction.
- Adapt: Resize, adapt and maintain visual consistency across platforms and formats while pushing creative boundaries.
Animation & Motion Design
- Animate: Bring static designs to life through animation, motion graphics, transitions and effects.
- Create & Edit: Produce animated social content, GIFs, Reels and short-form video with strong visual storytelling.
- Innovate: Stay ahead of emerging animation techniques, formats and tools to keep content fresh and engaging.
Creative Collaboration
- Collaborate: Bring a strong visual and motion perspective to pitches, proposals and campaign concepts. Support wider company initiatives and campaigns with creative and content requirements.
- Contribute: Actively participate in creative brainstorming and identify opportunities to make content more engaging.
- Communicate: Work with clients and internal teams to understand briefs, incorporate feedback and deliver creative solutions.
Multimedia Production
- Produce, edit and curate visual content including photography, graphics, video, animation and GIFs.
- Repurpose and adapt existing assets into multiple social-first formats.
- Ensure all content is delivered to a high creative and technical standard.
Tools & Technology
You’ll be expected to be highly comfortable working across a range of creative and digital tools, including:
- Canva for fast-paced digital content and presentations and collaboration.
- Adobe Creative Suite - particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
- Frame.io for creative review and collaboration.
- Dropbox and Google Drive for asset management and storage.
- AI and emerging creative technologies like Firefly, Midjourney, Runway, ChatGPT
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years’ graphic design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing social-first design, animation, motion graphics and video content.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, plus strong experience with Canva, CapCut and other social content tools.
- Strong understanding of social platforms and trends, with the ability to create engaging, platform-native content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and other channels.
- Strong creative and conceptual thinking, with the ability to take a brief from initial idea through to final execution while maintaining brand consistency and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
- Proactive, collaborative and adaptable, with a genuine interest in emerging creative technologies, AI, trends and new ways of working.
