Software Tester (QA & Performance)

We're looking for a Software Tester who moves comfortably between QA testing and performance assessments, owning both with the same rigor, from our internal projects to full performance engagements. Software Tester (QA & Performance)

Responsibilities

• Own performance testing end-to-end: assess the solution independently and define the right approach - normal usage, peak/load and stress scenarios, and large-scale testing to establish maximum capacity.

• Select and own the appropriate tooling for each performance assessment (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner, or other, as best fits the context).

• Measure and report on response time, processing speed, data transfer speed, network usage, maximum concurrent users, and memory utilization.

• Support internal QA testing projects alongside performance work, including test case design, execution, and defect reporting.

• Analyze results, identify bottlenecks and risks, and produce clear, actionable reports with recommendations.

Required Skills

• Proven, hands-on experience in performance testing, able to run assessments and execute independently.

• Strong knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.

• Solid understanding of load, stress, and capacity testing methodologies.

• General QA testing experience (manual and/or automated), comfortable moving between performance and functional testing work.

• Clear communication skills, able to translate technical results into actionable recommendations.

• Fluent in English - written and spoken (mandatory).

• Based in Lisbon, with availability to work in a Hybrid model.

Preferred Skills

• Integrating performance test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with async and queue-based load testing.

• Routine use of AI tools to support test generation or analysis.
