The Security (CCTV) Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CCTV and integrated electronic security systems. The role ensures that security systems operate reliably and comply with project specifications, industry standards, and company health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities• Install, configure, test, and commission CCTV systems, including IP and analog cameras, Network Video Recorders (NVRs), Digital Video Recorders (DVRs), and Video Management Systems (VMS).
- Design and implement CCTV layouts based on project requirements and site surveys.
- Install and terminate structured cabling, fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, and power supplies for security systems.
- Configure network devices, IP cameras, switches, routers, and remote monitoring systems.
- Integrate CCTV systems with access control, intrusion alarms, intercoms, and other electronic security systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system upgrades.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues affecting CCTV systems.
- Conduct system testing and prepare commissioning reports and documentation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
- Train end users on the operation of CCTV and security systems.
- Maintain maintenance records, service reports, and asset documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, as well as relevant security and electrical standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills• Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, IP networking, and electronic security technologies.
- Experience with IP cameras, NVRs, DVRs, VMS platforms, and remote monitoring systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and network layouts.
- Knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and low-voltage installations.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, switches, routers, VLANs, and network troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in configuring and maintaining CCTV software and hardware.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication, documentation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects or service calls.
