Job DetailsJob Location: Headquarters - Suitland, MD 20746The Project Management Program Manager (PMPM) will oversee the Project Management program at Andrews Federal Credit Union.  Responsibilities include identifying needed resources, monitoring projects, documenting procedures and workflows, and providing assistance to new project managers to ensure their projects are input into Smartsheet in a timely and efficient process. The PMPM works closely with the departmental project managers and product owners to ensure scope and quality are managed effectively throughout the project life cycle and that all projects adhere to the established standards of the project management program.

The Project Management Program Manager also oversees the Project Management Task Force and its subcommittees.  The position is also responsible for managing any changes made to the Project Management Program workflow or Smartsheet platform as well as working with departmental project managers on the development of new reports, dashboards and blueprints.

The Project Management Program Manager may also be tasked with leading, managing and implementing projects. The position applies knowledge of the industry, trends, developments, and solutions to identify, evaluate, and recommend solutions to the business problem.  The role requires demonstrated skills to plan, execute, and finalize projects within deadlines and budget. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Effectively apply project management methodology and enforce project standards Direct and manage project from beginning to end Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders Identify opportunities to increase operational effectiveness, reduce risk, and increase quality Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals Develop and deliver requirements documentation, project schedule, progress reports, and associated communications documents Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project; escalate issues in a timely fashion Plan, schedule and track project deliverables and milestones Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans Identify intra-dependencies among other credit union initiatives and ensure solutions are complementary Coach, mentor, motivate departmental project managers and products owners and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned project. Coordinate with the Project Management Task Force and Departmental Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered in a time manner. Work closely with Executive management to prioritize approved projects and determine needed order of initiation. Remain cognizant of and adheres to Andrews Federal policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Interact with co-workers, supervisors, members and outside contacts in an appropriate and professional manner which projects a positive image of the department and Andrews Federal. Ensure project management software is maintained and kept up to date in conjunction with Project Software Application Owner. Develop and maintain policies and procedures associated with the project management workflow process Streamline project reporting through utilization of project management software.  Seek out efficiencies and enhancements to project templates. Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Five or more years as a project manager or supervisor/manager experience with project management responsibilities. Progressive experience in a financial institution; broad knowledge of the financial industry to include knowledge of systems and regulations. 

 

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.  Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred

 

Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and finalize multiple projects simultaneously within deadlines and budget, with the focus on meeting project objective to resolve business problems in a fast paced environment.  Demonstrated ability to organize and lead a complex project leveraging project management methodology. Proven ability to build motivated, collaborative and productive project management teams.  Outstanding leadership/management skills.  Detail oriented.  Excellent verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills. General understanding of database, system design and application workflow.  Familiarity with Smartsheet Project Management software preferred.
