Job Description Summary
The Europe Service Finance Analyst provides operational Finance support to the Europe Service organization, with a focus on financial reporting, data analysis, forecasting, and performance monitoring. Reporting to the Europe Service Finance Manager, the role works closely with zone and local Finance teams, Service Operations, Commercial teams, and Controllership to ensure accurate and timely financial information. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining reports, analyzing variances, supporting planning cycles, and monitoring key Service performance indicators. The position is suited to an early-career Finance professional looking to develop strong FP&A and business-partnering capabilities in a European and matrixed environment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly Service financial reports and dashboards.
- Collect, consolidate, and validate financial data from European zones and local teams.
- Support month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including accruals, reclassifications, and variance analysis.
- Monitor Service revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, productivity, backlog, contract performance, and other relevant KPIs.
- Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, prior year, and business targets.
- Identify reporting inconsistencies, investigate variances, and follow up with local Finance and operational teams.
- Support the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes by preparing templates, consolidating submissions, and updating financial models.
- Maintain trackers for risks, opportunities, actions, and forecast assumptions.
- Support analysis of Service contracts, labor costs, parts consumption, overtime, travel expenses, and other operational cost drivers.
- Assist with billing, unbilled revenue, overdue receivables, and cash-related reporting for the Service business.
- Prepare standard presentations and financial summaries for Service and Finance leadership reviews.
- Respond to recurring and ad hoc data requests from Europe Service and Finance teams.
- Work with Controllership to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
- Support the standardization, simplification, and automation of Service Finance reports and processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting calendars, and process instructions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Approximately one to three years of experience in Finance, FP&A, accounting, reporting, audit, or business analysis; relevant internship experience may also be considered.
- Basic understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, filters, and basic data consolidation.
- Experience with ERP or financial reporting systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools is an advantage.
- Ability to manage recurring activities and meet reporting deadlines.
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable working with large volumes of data.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with Finance and non-Finance stakeholders.
- Proactive approach to identifying data issues and following actions through to completion.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed and multicultural environment.
- Fluent written and spoken English; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
