Reporting to the Information Security Manager and working closely with the Cybersecurity Operations Lead, you'll play a hands-on role in strengthening Gallagher's security capabilities across security platforms, cloud environments, applications, and DevSecOps practices.
This is a broad engineering role that offers the opportunity to work across multiple domains of cybersecurity. You'll help implement and maintain security controls, support vulnerability remediation, contribute to automation initiatives, and work alongside technical teams to ensure our environments remain secure, reliable, and resilient.
You'll be responsible for
- Configuring, maintaining, and optimising security platforms including SIEM, EDR, IAM, CASB, vulnerability management tools, and firewalls
- Supporting cloud and application security initiatives, including identity and access management and conditional access controls
- Assisting with the remediation of security vulnerabilities across applications, platforms, and cloud environments
- Developing scripts and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort across security operations
- Supporting security testing programs, including validation and remediation activities associated with SAST and DAST findings
- Collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to strengthen Gallagher's overall security posture
About You
You're a curious and proactive security professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and continuously learning. Comfortable working across multiple areas of cybersecurity, you're equally at home configuring security platforms, supporting cloud security initiatives, and automating repetitive tasks.
You'll also bring:
- 3 to 5 years' experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT engineering roles
- Experience configuring or supporting security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IAM, CASB, vulnerability management tools, or firewalls
- Exposure to cloud environments and application security concepts
- Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical teams
- A tertiary qualification in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
Working at Gallagher
You’ll be part of a global, future-focused organisation where creativity and innovation are valued and supported. Working in an environment driven by collaboration, innovation, passion, craftsmanship and mutual respect, you’ll help achieve our team purpose to translate vision into exceptional creations.
We also offer:
- Competitive salary and bonuses
- Hybrid flexibility (typically 3 days in the office a week, with additional onsite days required depending on work demands)
- KiwiSaver on-top and Life and Disability insurance
- Mentorship and professional development opportunities
- A supportive team culture with team-building events, and a fun environment
Growth at Gallagher is constant, and we are building our team with like-minded individuals who relate to our story so that together we can continue to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and the role may be filled before the closing date.
