MEA System Engineering SI Job Description
Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our System Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end design, integration, deployment, and ongoing optimization of mission-critical network infrastructures supporting public safety technology, including Land Mobile Radio (LMR) networks and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems. You will bridge complex on-premises environments with high-availability cloud platforms to ensure reliability for emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Architecture & System Integration: lead end-to-end routing, switching, and security architecture for LMR, CAD, and emergency response platforms spanning enterprise on-premise data centers, remote public safety sites, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Mission-Critical Operations: oversee mission-critical traffic engineering, prioritizing real-time voice, video, and dispatch telemetry using advanced QoS/CoS policies over complex WAN/LAN backhauls (IP/MPLS, microwave links, dark fiber, cellular/LTE).
- Deployment & Implementation: conduct site surveys, high-level design (HLD), low-level design (LLD), and pre-deployment staging for public safety agencies. Lead migration strategies with zero service downtime.
- Tier 3/4 Escalation & Troubleshooting: act as the technical lead for complex network outages, packet drop issues, routing anomalies, and performance bottlenecks across multicast and unicast environments.
- Security & Compliance: enforce CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services), NIST, and NIMS security guidelines across firewalls, VPN tunnels, access control lists (ACLs), and zero-trust segmentation protocols.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: guide junior and mid-level engineers through design reviews, operational handoffs, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Basic Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Education: bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering/security.
- Languages: full professional proficiency (written and spoken) in Arabic, French, and English (all mandatory).
Highly Desirable
- Certifications: ITIL Foundation v4, Juniper JNCIP, Cisco CCNP.
- Technical Knowledge: hands-on working knowledge of Palo Alto and Juniper SRX Firewalls.
Desirable
- Security & Systems Certifications: any recognized Information Security, VMware, or Linux certifications.
- Network & Security Architecture: proven track record in design, implementation, and troubleshooting across:
- LANs, WANs, and VPNs
- Cisco Catalyst 9K Series
- Palo Alto Firewalls & Juniper SRX Series
