Purpose of the job

A Project Manager in the Information Technology (IT) sector is responsible for planning, executing, communicating, and closing projects within the given time frame and budget. This role requires a blend of technical know-how, managerial acumen, and interpersonal skills to lead cross-functional global teams and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Initiation

· Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

· Develop comprehensive project plans that include timelines, milestones, risk assessments, and resource allocation.

· Identify project requirements and ensure all necessary resources are available for project execution.

· Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis to support project approvals.

· Follow workload planning processes to register a project Project Execution and Monitoring

· Lead project teams, comprising of EUC, Cloud and Infrastructure, and SecOps Engineers as well as Network and Voice Engineers, and other IT professionals.

· Coordinate tasks, assign responsibilities, set expectations, and ensure tasks are being completed.

· Monitor project progress and performance using appropriate tools and techniques (e.g., project dashboards, project cards, SharePoint site, etc.).

· Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

· Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.

· Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.

· Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis.

Communication and Stakeholder Management

· Regularly communicate project status, updates, and progress to stakeholders, including senior management.

· Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations to keep all parties informed and engaged.

· Develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.

· Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure their involvement throughout the project lifecycle.

· Risk Management · Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.

· Implement risk management processes to monitor and control risk factors continuously.

· Prepare contingency plans to handle unexpected challenges that may arise during the project.

· Escalate to project owner/sponsor when needed. Quality Assurance

· Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations.

· Implement quality control processes to monitor the quality of work throughout the project.

· Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.

Project Closure

· Conduct project evaluations and assessments at the end of each project phase.

· Compile comprehensive project reports that include lessons learned, success factors, and areas for improvement.

· Ensure that all project documentation is completed and properly archived.

· Facilitate post-project reviews and feedback sessions with team members and stakeholders.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Technical Skills

· Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and system integration.

· Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).

· Proficiency in presentation and communication skills using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Office products, and Co-Pilot.

· Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies. · Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection regulations. Managerial Skills

· Excellent leadership and team management abilities.

· Strong organizational and time-management skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.

· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.

· Additional certifications in Agile, Scrum, or other relevant methodologies are a plus.

Experience

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the IT sector.

· Proven track record of successfully managing IT projects from initiation to completion.

· Experience working with cross-functional global teams and managing remote or distributed teams.
