StructureIt is a fast-growing fintech business, with offices in the UK, South Africa, Mauritius, Thailand and New Zealand. We build mission critical software and data solutions for both major multi-national financial institutions and smaller organisations.

Main focus of the role

We are seeking a technically strong, customer-focused Senior Technical Business Analyst to support application development and data solution implementations for a global client base. This role sits at the intersection of client data environments and our technical delivery teams—requiring both business insight and technical acumen.

This individual will work with our technical teams and be the link person between what the intended use of the delivered solutions and the customer datasets and needs. You will establish and understand the customer datasets by working with their tech and data teams, building specifications for integration and processes to ensure data integrity as their data moves from their environment through the solution and is presented back to them via the presentation layers.

This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with data transformation and integration processes.

What you’ll do 

  • Customer Engagement & Requirements Gathering
  • Engage directly with customers to understand their business needs and data environments.
  • Elicit, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Conduct workshops and interviews with client stakeholders to capture use cases and success criteria.
  • Data Analysis & Integration Design
  • Analyze complex customer data sets, schemas, and data flows to assess integration needs.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and developers to design effective data ingestion, transformation, and mapping processes.
  • Validate data quality, completeness, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Technical Collaboration & Delivery
  • Translate business requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the internal technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to solution architecture, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definitions.
  • Support testing efforts by defining test cases and validating outputs against expected results.
  • Product & Analytics Alignment
  • Work closely with our product team to ensure that customer data is accurately reflected in analytics outputs.
  • Provide feedback on product improvements based on client needs and data insights.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of integrated data in supporting customer decision-making.

To fly in your role, you’ll need

  • 5+ years’ experience in a business analyst or data analyst role, with at least 2 years in a technical capacity.
  • Proven experience working on data integration projects (ETL, data pipelines, APIs).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and data transformation concepts with relational database experience (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, etc) strongly preferred
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business language and vice versa.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Technical understanding of complex data sets with the ability to interrogate them via SQL and Excel
  • To be approachable, calm under pressure and authentic
