Job Description:
Orbital is seeking an Engineering Services Quality Manager in a REMOTE WORK role to support our Engineering division in harmonizing work processes and driving quality in our projects. Orbital is evaluating candidates based upon their project experience, understanding of Quality Management systems and desire to improve Engineering operations.
Essential Functions:
- Manage the Quality Management System to create a culture of engagement and value creation throughout the workforce and to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Facilitate collaboration across regions and departments to increase knowledge sharing and work process alignment
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated into the engineering design and development processes
- Develop training material and conduct training sessions to ensure understanding of quality procedures and requirements
- Lead improvement initiatives on work processes and templates utilized by project teams
- Manage audit processes across projects to gauge consistency in standards, and adherence to quality requirements and established procedures
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of engineering processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track quality metrics, presenting findings to relevant stakeholders
- Interface with suppliers and vendors to establish quality requirements and perform supplier quality assessments
- Prepare monthly reports to engineering management on Quality Compliance
- Solicit feedback on the existing Quality Management System and opportunities for revisions to better suit organizational needs
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints or quality-related issues, implementing preventative measures to avoid future occurrences
- Champion internal process for documenting lessons learned and implementing actions for continuous improvement
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to proactively address potential quality issues

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- 10 years of proven experience, preferably in a consulting environment, and well-rounded expertise in the oil & gas, power generation or Utilities industry. Experience in other heavy industrial engineering projects such as manufacturing, chemicals, steel, mining and materials processing will also be considered.
- In-depth knowledge of quality control methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements; familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a keen attention to detail.
- Candidate should have a thorough understanding and aptitude in the use of current computer software, including general MS Office products and design & business enterprise software.
- Proficiency in project management tools and project control principles.
- Exceptional presentation, oral, and written communication skills; can effectively navigate and interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to convey complex quality information to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Requirements:
- PMP Certification is desirable but not required
- Successful experience in leadership roles managing engineering and design teams in a consulting engineering environment
This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.
Location Note:
This is a remote work position. Compensation is based on market data and internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s location.
Salary Range:
$130,000 – $180,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
