Company: Siemens EDA
Job Title: 3D IC Solutions Engineer – Power, EMIR and Reliability
Job Reference #: 526149
Job Location: Santa Clara, CA
Siemens EDA is a global technology leader in Electronic Design Automation software. Our software tools enable companies around the world to develop highly innovative electronic products faster and more cost-effectively. Our customers use our tools to push the boundaries of technology and physics to deliver better products in the increasingly complex world of chip, board, and system design.
Siemens EDA, a leader in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry, is seeking an experienced, self-starting, motivated, and high performing individual for an opportunity to serve as a solution engineer for power, EMIR (Electromigration and IR-drop) in our 3D IC Solutions Engineering team, driving the development of comprehensive, end-to-end workflow solutions supporting the development of advanced 2.5D and 3D System-in-Package (SiP) designs. These multi-domain workflow solutions seamlessly integrate Siemens' industry leading EDA and simulations tools that facilitate the architectural planning, physical design & verification, and multi-die based electrical and thermomechaincal analysis of advanced 2.5D and 3D SiP designs.
The primary responsibility for this position is to define and drive comprehensive workflow solutions supporting the power, EMIR and reliability analysis of 2.5D/3D IC package designs, leveraging Siemens' design and analysis tools. Acting as a technical product owner, this individual will work closely with software engineering teams to translate roadmap priorities and customer requirements into software deliverables - including the use of generative AI technologies to rapidly build proof-of-concept demonstrators that clarify requirements and user experience ahead of formal development. These workflows will support predictive analysis during the architectural planning phase, in-design analysis during the physical design phase, and signoff-to-manufacturing handoff analysis.
Reference designs and test structures and/or customer designs will be used in the development, testing, and validation of these workflows. The Solution Architect will also provide technical support and guidance to the sales, marketing, and design services organizations as required, and will represent Siemens EDA in direct customer engagements — leveraging established industry credibility and, where appropriate, supporting the creation of technical marketing content (papers, demonstrations, videos) to promote these solutions.
This position may require periodic travel to work with customers in developing and validating these workflow solutions.
Job Qualifications:
- BS (MS preferred) in electrical or computer engineering or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience in EDA physical design, implementation or analysis with focus on power, EMIR and reliability.
- 3 or more years of product or field application engineering experience, including experience working with software development teams to translate customer requirements into software roadmap and deliverables
- Working knowledge of EDA tools, terminology, file formats, and design/working practices, including:
o Advanced Packaging EDA tools and design methods for 2.5D and 3D solutions
o Physical Design and Implementation tools: Siemens (Aprisa), Synopsys (3DIC Compiler, Fusion Compiler), Cadence (Integrity 3D-IC, Innovus)
o Power and EMIR analysis tools for digital and analog/mixed signal designs: Siemens (PowerPro, mPower), Ansys (Redhawk, Totem, Swave), Cadence (Voltus, Voltus-XFi, Clarity 3D solver)
o Detailed knowledge of EDA data formats (Verilog, LEF/DEF, GDS, OASIS, etc.)
- Working knowledge and understanding of generative and agentic AI technologies and trends
- Demonstrated track record in generation of high quality technical collateral – presentations, demos, visuals, videos, publications, etc. to support solution messaging and customer engagement
- Some travel may be required
This position will be subject to U.S. export control requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Employment is contingent on either verifying the U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.
