Role Summary
As a Data Engineer within our Data Management Tribe, you will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing data solutions that support business-critical data products across ING. You'll work across the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation to storage, modeling, and consumption.
Working closely with Product Owners, Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and technical leads, you'll help deliver reliable and efficient data capabilities that enable better decision-making across the organization.
This is a permanent mid-to-senior level opportunity for professionals who enjoy working in an international environment and are motivated by technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

The Data Management Tribe enables trusted, accessible, and scalable data solutions across ING's banking and financial services landscape. You'll join a collaborative team of engineers and data professionals who are passionate about creating impactful data products and advancing data capabilities.
Our teams work closely with global stakeholders across multiple countries, providing opportunities to collaborate internationally, share knowledge, and contribute to large-scale initiatives that drive meaningful business outcomes.

Required Skills
We're looking for candidates who bring experience in:
- Python development and data engineering practices
- SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL databases
- Data warehousing, data modeling, and data architecture
- Building and maintaining ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines
- Data ingestion, transformation, storage, and processing solutions
- Software quality practices and data pipeline testing
- CI/CD, DevOps practices, automation, and scripting
- Working with distributed and cross-functional teams
It would be advantageous if you have experience with:
- Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Streaming technologies including Kafka or Flink
- Spark and large-scale data processing environments
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases
