What’s the role?

The Senior DevOps Engineer is the technical owner of the enterprise Jira and Confluence platform, responsible for the administration, configuration, integration and continuous improvement of the service.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this role ensures the platform remains secure, stable, scalable and aligned to enterprise standards while delivering an excellent user experience. The role combines deep Atlassian platform expertise with platform engineering, automation, integration and operational support capabilities.

As the primary technical specialist for Jira and Confluence, the Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for:

• Platform Administration and technical ownership

• Project and space configuration

• Automation Management and continuous improvement

• Integration Engineering

• User provisioning oversight

• Governance, Risk security and compliance

• Incident resolution

• Stakeholder collaboration

• Implementation of platform enhancements

• Providing technical leadership and guidance to support analysts and administrators

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience administering Jira Software, Jira Service Management and Confluence. You will be well versed in supporting enterprise SaaS platforms within large and complex organisations and have proven experience designing and implementing platform configurations, workflows and automation. You should have strong stakeholder engagement skills and be well versed in translating business requirements into technical solutions.

In addition to the above, the below skills and experience are required:

• Experience integrating Atlassian products with enterprise systems and services

• Experience managing platform incidents, problem resolution and operational support

• Jira Software administration

• Jira Service Management administration

• Experience supporting identity management, user provisioning and access governance processes

• Experience delivering platform enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives

• Confluence administration

• Atlassian Cloud platform management

• Knowledge of risk management and compliance practices.

• Experience supporting governance frameworks and operating standards.

• Awareness of data privacy and regulatory requirements.

• Workflow design and configuration

• Automation rules and process automation

• Experience working with business and technology stakeholders to deliver platform outcomes
