About this Role
DSI, Dynamic System a Quanta company, is seeking a MEP Project Manager to lead the project team on the design side of the business once a contract is awarded, managing all aspects of a project's design in coordination with owners, engineers, and architects. Balances the financial and risk-reporting needs of DSI leadership with strong, ongoing client relationships throughout the design phase.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain positive, ongoing relationships with internal teams and external clients and their representatives
- Maintain a thorough working understanding of the owner contract and any client master service agreements
- Own overall execution of the contract's design-phase obligations
- Monitor scope changes closely and communicates cost/schedule impacts to the client in a timely manner
- Provide leadership to the project team once a contract is awarded
- Ensure DSI's project procedures, tools, and standards are followed throughout the design effort
- Develop the project-specific execution plan, communicate it to the team, and update it as project conditions change
- Clearly communicate baseline scope of work to the project team and keep the team current on approved change orders
- Own, manage, and communicate the project design schedule, ensuring adequate time for QA and client review cycles
- Identify and escalate potential project risks to engineering leadership
- Partner with project accounting to keep budgets, forecasts, billings, and receivables current
- Prepare project status reports and lead monthly reviews covering financial forecasts, revenue/margin projections, staffing, client relationship health, and overall project status
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
- 4–5 years of relevant project management or design-phase experience
- Strong knowledge of project controls, including change management, fee/cost estimating, schedule development, and forecasting (manpower and cost)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, clients, and general contractors
- Ability to read and understand construction documents across trades
- Solid business writing and public speaking skills
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of the mechanical/engineering industry
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or Lean Project Delivery methods
- Experience with project accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Vista, COINS, or similar)
- PMP certification
