Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Sustaining Operations
- Maintain and optimize lithography processes in high volume manufacturing environments.
- Build a high-performing organization with disciplined, strong execution, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement via process SPC control.
- Allocate team resources to critical business priorities and ensure appropriate coverage of process related holds and execution activities across required or extended operating hours.
- Establish consistent processes, governance, and accountability across the functions while recognizing legitimate site-specific operational requirements.
Process Development & Transfers
- Lead the development, validation, and transfer of new or modified photolithography processes.
- Translate demand and business priorities into feasible process development plans, short-loop wafer requirements, troubleshooting plans, and scheduling priorities, as applicable.
- Identify capacity, material, and process constraints and coordinate mitigation plans with Operations, Integration engineering, Program Management, Demand Management, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure plans are regularly reconciled to actual factory conditions and revised as business priorities change.
- Support the integration of new photolithography equipment and techniques, including EUV and advanced scanner technologies.
Yield & Quality Improvement
- Drive yield improvements, defect reduction, eliminate photolithography misalignment issues, and cost savings through root cause analysis and process control.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to minimize hold issues via solid development phase.
- Drive timely recovery actions when execution deviates from plan and escalate issues requiring cross-functional or leadership decisions.
- Balance near-term execution requirements with longer-term customer-service objectives.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner effectively with different process module teams, manufacturing and site operations, integration engineering, equipment engineering, Quality, IT, to resolve manufacturing and development issues.
- Manage and mentor process engineers and technicians, ensuring technical excellence and operational stability.
- Communicate significant execution risks clearly to leadership and drive timely decisions and corrective actions.
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline. Ph.D. degree with photolithography experience in III-V semiconductor would be a preference.
- 10+ years in semiconductor process engineering, with minimum 3+ years as a process owner in photolithography process.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and cross-functional engineering in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex process issues.
- Deep knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes, photolithography principles and equipment operation.
- Experience leading engineering teams and managing projects with cross functional stakeholders.
Skills
- Proven success in leading and developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of interactions of prior and post photolithography processes, and execution alignment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to influence across organizational boundaries and lead through ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Understanding of lithography tools, materials and process flows.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and analytics/reporting tools such as Excel, JMP, SQL, or comparable technologies preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with operational teams, functional leaders, customers, and executive leadership.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required by the business.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for an office environment and climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
Must be able to work effectively with a 24/7 manufacturing organization and provide support outside normal business hours when required by operational or business needs.
Physical Requirements
Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods; occasional movement through manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics areas.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to attend scheduled training, follow site EHS procedures and Corporate EHS standards, and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by job responsibilities.
Managers will ensure safety and environmental procedures are followed consistently, including appropriate risk assessments, training, work instructions, PPE availability, and compliance monitoring.

Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
