Lead Senior Software Engineer – JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React_based in Kaunas (Lithuanian citizens only)

Hitcontract is looking for a Lead Senior Software Engineer for an international client – a global technology and business consulting organization delivering digital solutions and large-scale software projects for clients worldwide.

The company operates in a multicultural, international environment and works with modern technologies to develop and maintain complex enterprise-level applications.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Senior Software Engineer to join a team working across the full software development lifecycle. The role focuses on both front-end and back-end development, with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL, REST APIs, databases, and messaging systems at its core.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in technical leadership, contributing to architecture and development practices while collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and other teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather and understand requirements for new features and enhancements.

• Develop and maintain front-end web components using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Design and develop software solutions using Node.js, GraphQL, and JavaScript frameworks and middleware.

• Build and consume RESTful web services and APIs.

• Apply software architecture and design principles, including DDD, CQRS, and Clean Architecture.

• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and practices.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to ensure project objectives are achieved.

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and identify opportunities to improve development practices.

• Provide technical leadership and support to other team members.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, HTML/CSS, and SQL.

• Strong experience in both front-end and back-end development.

• Proven team leadership experience, either in a technical leadership or managerial capacity.

• Strong understanding and practical experience with:

• Node.js

• React

• TypeScript / JavaScript

• SQL

• GraphQL

• REST APIs

• CI/CD pipelines

• Message brokers

• ORM

• Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), CQRS, and Clean Architecture.

• Experience working in Agile development environments.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Good command of English.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Vanilla JavaScript.

• Understanding of V8.

• Experience with WebAssembly.

• Experience working with complex enterprise applications and large-scale software systems.

• Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers.

Salary

€6,000–€7,300 gross per month, before taxes.
