Position overview:
The Product Manager, Curves is a domain-focused product role responsible for contributing to the strategy, development, and delivery of curve data capabilities across Zema Global’s Enterprise and Marketplace products. Working within a broader product team, this individual will take ownership of specific areas of the curves roadmap - focused on curve automation, integration, and governance - while developing a deep understanding of how clients build and depend on trusted curve data across their physical and financial trading operations.
This role is well suited to a product professional who is eager to develop specialized expertise at the intersection of energy and commodities markets, data management, and trading workflows. The Product Manager, Curves will collaborate closely with engineering, data operations, and client-facing teams, and will grow into a meaningful voice on how Zema Global supports clients in establishing curves as a reliable, governed source of truth within their organizations.
This is not a generic Product Manager role, it sits at the core of how we help clients structure, trust and operationalise critical market data used in trading and risk decisions.
What You'll Be Doing
Curves Roadmap Contribution
- Own specific, defined areas of the curves product roadmap within Zema Enterprise and Zema Marketplace, contributing to a broader roadmap led by senior product leadership.
- Develop a strong understanding of end-to-end curve workflows - from source data acquisition through construction, validation, publication, and consumption - to inform your areas of ownership.
- Work with senior product and engineering leaders to prioritize investments that deliver client value and advance Zema Global’s capabilities in the curves domain.
- Build product knowledge across a wide range of commodity markets and curve types, developing breadth as a distinguishing strength in the role.
Curve Automation & Integration
- Define requirements for automated curve construction and validation workflows, with a focus on reducing manual effort and increasing reliability for clients.
- Document integration needs between Zema’s curve capabilities and external data sources - including exchanges, brokers, and price reporting agencies.
- Collaborate with engineering on transformation logic requirements: interpolation, extrapolation, blending, and other curve calculation methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve how curve data flows across the Zema platform, from Marketplace ingestion through Enterprise storage and into downstream client systems.
Curve Governance & Source of Truth Development
- Contribute to Zema Global’s ongoing effort to support clients in establishing governed, reliable curve data - working toward a model where Zema plays a central role in clients’ source-of-truth infrastructure.
- Help define and deliver governance features: curve versioning, audit trails, approval workflows, override tracking, and data lineage.
- Support the development of data quality frameworks that allow clients to detect and resolve curve anomalies with confidence.
- Engage with clients to understand how curve governance intersects with their internal risk policies, valuation processes, and control requirements.
Commodity Coverage & Market Knowledge
- Develop working familiarity with curve conventions and market structures across a broad range of energy and commodities markets — including power, natural gas, crude oil, refined products, NGLs, LNG, agricultural commodities, metals, and environmental products.
- Help identify gaps in Zema Global’s curve coverage and work with data operations and partnership teams to surface and prioritize opportunities to close them.
- Build understanding of the data vendor landscape - price reporting agencies, exchanges, and proprietary sources and how they feed into Zema’s curve capabilities.
- Grow into an internal resource on commodity curve standards, conventions, and client use cases over time.
Customer Engagement
- Participate in client discovery sessions, pilots, and beta programs to gather feedback on curve capabilities and validate product direction.
- Support Sales and Customer Success in conversations where curve features are relevant to a deal or renewal.
- Translate client feedback and requirements into clear product specifications for engineering teams.
- Develop relationships with trading, risk, and middle-office contacts at client organizations to build domain context over time.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering on requirements, delivery, and acceptance criteria for curve-related features.
- Coordinate with Data Operations on source onboarding standards, normalization, and data quality monitoring.
- Collaborate with product peers across Zema Global to understand how curve data interacts with Enterprise, Marketplace, and analytics workflows.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales on messaging for curve-related capabilities as needed.

- Comfort working with data-intensive products and collaborating with engineering teams on technical requirements.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document requirements precisely and engage clients and stakeholders effectively.
- Curiosity and a genuine interest in developing deep domain expertise in energy and commodities data.
