Position Overview:

The Solution Engineer is a critical business enabler at Zema Global, operating at the intersection of sales, relationship management, delivery, and customer success. More than a technical advisor, the Solution Engineer serves as a trusted partner to both customers and internal teams – guiding strategic decisions, communicating value, and accelerating growth. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and commercial acumen. Solution Engineers help customers navigate complex decisions, shape solutions that justify investment, and ensure value realization across the sales lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing:

Pre-Sales Support

• Partner with Sales and Relationship Management to analyze customer challenges and design customized technical solutions.

• Develop and deliver custom presentations and demonstrations to customers based upon their specific requirements.

• Create technical proposals, RFP responses, SOWs and technical documentation to align solutions with client needs.

• Coordinate with product, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure feasibility and alignment on budget, expectations, and timelines

Customer Engagement

• Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their business goals and acting as a trusted technical advisor.

• Translate complex technical concepts into language that resonates with executives and non-technical stakeholders.

• Conduct workshops, webinars, and training sessions to enable customers to make the most of the solution.

Product Expertise & Innovation

• Stay up to date with product developments, industry trends, and competitive solutions.

• Collect Voice of Customer to enhance our understanding of product-market fit, evaluate target market segments, and influence development priorities.

 

What You'll Bring:

Essential:

•Experience: 7+ years of in a technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Pre-Sales Consultant, or similar.

•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Analytics or related field (or equivalent experience).

•Experience with Energy / Commodities Trading industries and/or Financial Services within Fortune 1000 firms.

•Experience with data enabled platforms and the ability to map complex data flows throughout an organization

•Strong understanding of software, SaaS platforms, or IT infrastructure.

•Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs and other downstream integrations.

•Experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) or integration tools is a plus.

•Excellent communication skills , able to confidently bridge technical depth with business storytelling

•Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a customer-first orientation

•Innate curiosity and growth mindset - thrives in an environment where there’s always more to explore

•Ability to travel as needed

Desirable

• Familiarity with Zema Global's data and software platforms or comparable market data management / ETRM systems.

• Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) for workflow automation, drafting, and analysis.

• Professional certifications in business management or the energy, commodity, or financial industries.
