About this Position

We are looking for a temporary Business Analyst (2-3 month contract) to join our Mutual Fund Department.

Hourly rate - $35 - $40/hr

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Documenting detailed user requirements and defining functional capabilities of the systems to be delivered and the boundaries between the manual and automated functions
  • Assist with, and leading where required, the formulation and definition of scope and objectives based on both users’ needs and a thorough understanding of business systems, technology, and Financial Services industry requirements
  • Assist with TurboApps design, testing and troubleshooting
  • Provide support with client statement testing and troubleshooting
  • Liaising between technology, external vendors, and Operational business units
  • Assist with DocuSign inquiries, PFSL Form creation and management
  • Identifying and working with vendors, where required in the context of RFPs and RFIs
  • Considering the implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment
  • Participating in design reviews to ensure that the technical design represents and complies with the user's requirements and, as appropriate, works with the users to obtain user input and approval, to resolve issues and to keep users informed of project status
  • Assist in the UAT efforts, developing and coordinating test plans and organizing results
  • Miscellaneous duties as may be required

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent of knowledge and skills acquired through related work experience; Business Analyst certification would be preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive business experience in financial services, particularly mutual funds; including 2-3 years as a Business Analyst within a project environment
  • Knowledge of FundSERV operations, ESG standards, and Fund Company ESG/XML Files 
  • Knowledge of RPM Open system an asset
  • Ability to balance business and technical issues to develop cost effective solutions that meet the business objectives
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize projects and strong attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of BA best practices, including requirements gathering and documentation, use cases, process flows; experience with functional specifications and data mapping is preferable
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record across multiple projects and comfortable working with a hands-on organization
  • Strong organisation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as team to complete assigned tasks
  • Focused, results-oriented individual with the strong ability to multi-task and perform under pressure and within strict timelines in a fast paced environment
  • Must be proficient in MS Office (word, PowerPoint)
