About the role
You will help build and scale data pipelines handling massive volumes of real-time predictions while designing experiments for model optimization. You will also collaborate with engineering teams to refine data processing and implement machine learning solutions for ad-tech products.
What they look for
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 4 years of experience in a data science role with strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark. A solid foundation in classical machine learning and familiarity with AWS tools and Docker is required.

About KIMARU Talent:
KIMARU Talent is a boutique executive search firm working with startups and growth-stage companies in AI, gaming, technology, and advertising. We take on fewer clients so we can go deeper on each search — real understanding of the role, the team, and what "yes" looks like for both sides.
We're not generalists who'll take any search. We focus on leadership and critical individual-contributor hires — the roles where getting it right changes the trajectory of the startup.
That depth is why most long-term clients give us access to their ATS, Slack, and internal comms. We're not a vendor you check in with weekly. We operate like an internal recruiter with an external network.
Summary:
Our client is a well-established, global tech company in the ad-tech space, with machine-learning-based products spanning mobile DSP, retargeting, and CTV. With a global presence, the company has spent the past decade building a fast-moving, real-time bidding platform that helps some of the world's top mobile app publishers acquire valuable users at scale.
They are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join their growing data science team, working fully remotely as they continue to scale all of their solutions.
What you'll do:
- Help build and scale a data pipeline that handles massive volumes of data — the platform already calculates over a million predictions every second, and that number keeps growing
- Design and run experiments across feature engineering, model optimization, and evaluating new ML tooling for the pipeline
- Tackle a wide range of problems, from classical machine learning on tabular data to NLP and generating embeddings for millions of users, all aimed at sharpening the predictions that help top app publishers find valuable users
- Contribute to deep learning work that pairs feature embeddings with text-based analysis of app descriptions
- Collaborate with the engineering team to continuously refine the data processing pipeline
- Bring AutoML techniques into the workflow to automate parts of the analysis process
- Explore new data preprocessing methods, build visualizations, and monitor experiments as they run
What you'll bring:
- 4+ years in a data science role
- Background in ad-tech, mobile marketing, or gaming is a strong plus
- Excellent command of Python, SQL, and Spark
- Hands-on expertise with boosted trees and XGBoost
- A strong foundation in classical ML, including the math behind it
- Comfort with ELK and AWS tools such as S3, Athena, Snowflake, Aerospike, EMR, and SageMaker
- Experience working with Docker
- Solid understanding of OOP, OOAD, and SOLID design principles
- Strong English communication skills for daily collaboration with a global team
