Staff Embedded Software Engineer, Digital Healthcare

About the Role

As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer within ADI's Digital Healthcare Disease Management team, you will play a critical role in transforming physiological sensing technologies into clinically relevant and wellness-focused solutions. You will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for architecting and developing embedded software platforms that enable health monitoring, disease management, and digital biomarker applications across wearable and medical devices.

This role requires deep expertise in embedded systems, sensor integration, and software architecture, combined with the ability to influence technical strategy across multidisciplinary teams including algorithm, biomedical, hardware, regulatory, product, and customer-facing organizations. You will help bridge the gap between advanced sensing technologies and real-world healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and design of complex embedded software systems for Digital Healthcare Disease Management team
  • Drive integration of Digital Healthcare algorithms
  • Drive technical innovation and best practices across teams
  • Collaborate closely with algorithm, biomedical, hardware, and system engineering teams to translate research innovations into scalable products.
  • Develop solutions to complex technical problems
  • Define software architectures that support regulatory, clinical, and commercial requirements across healthcare products.
  • Provide technical leadership on strategic projects
  • Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization
  • Influence cross-functional technical decisions
  • Drive system-level architecture improvements
  • Collaborate with business units to align technical solutions with market needs

Must Have Skills

  • Embedded Systems Architecture: Advanced expertise in designing sophisticated embedded software architectures
  • Hardware-Software Integration: Deep understanding of hardware-software interfaces and integration challenges
  • SoC Development: Extensive experience with System-on-Chip development and optimization
  • Real-Time Signal Processing Systems: Strong experience supporting physiological sensing pipelines, sensor fusion, and real-time data acquisition systems.
  • Performance and Power Optimization: Expert ability to analyze and optimize complex embedded systems for memory, latency, battery life and overall performance.
  • Technical Leadership: Proven capability to guide architectural decisions and technical direction
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Ability to influence decisions across organizational boundaries
  • Mentoring: Track record of developing technical talent and elevating team capabilities
  • SW Licensing: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of various software licensing models, including open-source, proprietary, and hybrid licenses.
  • CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated build and test processes, and integration with version control systems.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred; PhD a plus
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in embedded software development
  • Proven track record of technical leadership
  • Experience with complex system architecture
