Job Description
The Payroll and Time Business Analyst – Level 2 provides application support and leads the analysis, and configuration of payroll and time solutions aligned with business strategy. This role owns system configuration, technical documentation, and advanced issue resolution across integrated HRIS platforms, ensuring accurate, scalable, and compliant solutions. Partnering with Product Owners and cross‑functional stakeholders, the analyst translates complex business requirements into functional and technical designs, assesses downstream system impacts, and supports highly integrated payroll and time processes. With deep domain and application expertise, the role identifies optimization opportunities and demonstrates how HRIS solutions effectively support enterprise objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to solution design and independently configure and optimize application functionality to meet business needs.
- Analyze business workflows to identify opportunities and promote understanding of technical roles, processes, and system capabilities across business units.
- Develop, document, and communicate clear technical requirements to support the design and implementation of business solutions.
- Provide application support by investigating, resolving, and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Proactively learn and apply new technologies, platforms, and system capabilities; stay current on application enhancements and industry trends, and support adoption of new functionality.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex application issues, including configuration defects, data inconsistencies, and process breakdowns; implement corrective configuration changes and recommend long-term solutions.
- Analyze data structures, interfaces, and integrations; define data requirements, validate data quality, support data mapping, and collaborate with integration teams to ensure accurate and reliable data flow.
- Conduct benchmarking and research on technologies and best practices, assessing technical feasibility, scalability, risk, and long-term maintainability.
Skills/Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three (3) years of HR Applications experience
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Human Resources, Computer Science, or a related field
- Extensive experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and system configuration, with a strong emphasis on customer communication
- Demonstrated experience writing technical business requirements and developing, facilitating, and executing unit test cases
- Proficiency with Workforce Software, SAP ECP, SuccessFactors, or similar HCM cloud-based solutions preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. payroll and timekeeping processes, including rules, controls, and compliance requirements
