The Role and Team
You will be a senior technical leader within the team responsible for developing, scaling, and maintaining the DXA(Digital Experience Analytics) reporting tool. A primary focus of this role will be driving the strategic migration of the DXA portal from our legacy Backbone framework to our modern, Alchemy-based React framework.
Additionally, you will help architect and manage the Node.js-based microservices that power the DXA portal. As our team actively works toward achieving FedRAMP compliance for our reporting platform, you will play a critical role in aligning our frontend architecture, data handling, and security practices with federal compliance standards. As a senior member of the team, you will not only write high-quality code but also establish best practices, mentor other developers, and collaborate closely with product and design teams to shape our technical roadmap.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Front-End Engineer, you will own all aspects of the software development lifecycle, with an emphasis on architecture, quality, security, and leadership:
- Architect & Scale: Design and implement robust, reusable web architectures, state management systems, and client-side algorithms for the DXA portal.
- Drive Migration: Take a leading role in successfully transitioning legacy Backbone codebases into a modern, performance-optimized React/Alchemy architecture.
- Security & Compliance: Collaborate with security and engineering teams to ensure frontend interfaces, data storage, network calls, and authentication flows meet FedRAMP compliance requirements and federal security standards.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and perform constructive code reviews for junior and mid-level engineers to elevate the team's technical capabilities.
- End-to-End Ownership: Partner with product managers and designers to translate complex requirements into scalable technical designs, owning projects from concept through to deployment.
- Quality & Best Practices: Champion code quality, performance optimization, accessibility (a11y), security hardening, and comprehensive testing strategies (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
Candidates based in the Tysons vicinity will be prioritized as this role is Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite.

- Migration Experience: Proven experience successfully migrating large-scale legacy codebases (ideally from BackboneJS, AngularJS, or similar) to modern React.
- Strong backend familiarity, particularly with NodeJS and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with web security best practices (OWASP Top 10, secure session management, CSP, dependency scanning).
