The Ontario Cannabis Store provides safe, responsible access to recreational cannabis for adults 19 and older. We operate the sole legal online store for recreational cannabis in Ontario and are the provincial wholesaler of cannabis for private retail stores.

About the Role

We're looking for a Financial Analyst, Pricing to join our team!

As a key member of the team, the Financial Analyst, Pricing supports the effective administration of pricing processes and provides financial and analytical support to the Merchandising department. This role is responsible for coordinating pricing activities, analyzing product and category performance, and maintaining reporting tools that support informed business decisions and portfolio optimization.

Working closely with Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Internal Audit, and external vendor partners, the Financial Analyst, Pricing helps ensure pricing activities are accurate, timely, well-documented, and aligned with established business requirements. The role independently manages routine pricing activities within approved procedures, while identifying and escalating exceptions, issues, and recommendations to leadership for review and approval..

About Your Day

  • Manage the end-to-end pricing process, including coordinating vendor submissions, validating information, managing timelines, stakeholder communications, and implementing approved pricing changes.
  • Review pricing submissions for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with requirements, escalating discrepancies or exceptions as needed.
  • Coordinate clearance pricing activities and maintain accurate documentation, approvals, and records to support governance, audit, and data integrity requirements.
  • Respond to pricing inquiries from internal and external stakeholders and recommend improvements to pricing processes, controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze pricing, sales, margin, and product performance data to identify trends, risks, variances, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytical tools using Power BI and Excel to support business decision-making and communicate insights.
  • Assess the financial and operational impacts of pricing changes, promotions, and clearance initiatives, and prepare recommendations for leadership review.
  • Partner with Finance, Merchandising, and other stakeholders to investigate business performance drivers and validate the integrity of pricing data and reporting.
  • Support and coordinate cross-functional projects related to pricing, reporting, systems, and process improvements, including planning, execution, testing, implementation, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, SOPs, training materials, and other project documentation, while monitoring outcomes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls, and user experience.
  • Provide analytical, administrative, and implementation support to project teams and complete other related assignments as required.

About You

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; additional education in data analytics, pricing, retail merchandising, or business intelligence is an asset.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting business operations, financial analysis, pricing, merchandising, reporting, or project-based work.
  • Experience analyzing business or financial data, preparing reports and recommendations, and coordinating work across multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Experience in pricing administration, analytics, retail merchandising, consumer packaged goods, regulated industries, or audit and controls is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to organize, validate, analyze, and summarize data.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, including interpreting data, navigating dashboards, and working with existing reports; experience developing or enhancing Power BI reports is an asset.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and analytical tools, as well as working with SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, workflow tools, or similar collaboration platforms is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to data accuracy, and ability to validate data integrity.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong collaboration abilities, and a proven ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Adaptability and the ability to work effectively through changing priorities and periods of ambiguity.

  • Required Travel: Rare, usually within the GTA

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $75,000- $85,000. This is a pay grade 5B role, with a salary range of $61,291.58- $93,437.08. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
