The Marketing Project Manager is responsible for owning the operational backbone of the marketing function, building and maintaining the workflows, timelines, and processes that keep campaigns, content production, events, and vendor deliverables moving smoothly. This role ensures marketing's strategic priorities translate into well-executed, on-time, on-brand work.
What does a day in the life of a Marketing Project Manager look like?
- Build, maintain, and oversee comprehensive project plans, schedules, and timelines using project management software, such as Asana, Monday.com, or Jira
- Facilitate daily or weekly standups, status meetings, and campaign kickoff sessions to keep project stakeholders aligned
- Identify operational bottlenecks, resource constraints, and potential timeline delays, proactively developing solutions to keep projects on track
- Establish clear workflows and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for marketing asset creation, review processes, and campaign launches
- Coordinate the end-to-end production of marketing collateral, digital assets, sales enablement tools, and promotional content across internal creative, copy, and external vendor resources
- Manage logistics and execution timelines for promotional programs, webinars, trade shows, client events, and direct mail campaigns
- Manage external vendor relationships, freelance creative talent, and agency partners, ensuring deliverables meet brand standards and contract terms
- Maintain organized digital asset management (DAM) repositories to ensure all teams have access to up-to-date marketing collateral and templates
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Meet or exceed performance targets for related KPIs
- Continuously improve knowledge of marketing operations, project management tools, and industry best practices through training and learning initiatives
- Collaborate with other departments as needed
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers and colleagues at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
What are the required qualifications for a Marketing Project Manager?
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing operations, project or program management, or a similar coordination-focused role
- Hands-on proficiency with project management tools, such as Asana, Monday.com, or Jira
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, timelines, and stakeholders without dropping details
- Experience coordinating with external vendors, freelancers, or agency partners, including tracking deliverables against contract terms
- Strong organizational and process-development skills, with experience creating or improving SOPs
- Clear, proactive communication style, comfortable facilitating meetings and driving accountability across teams
- Fluent written and spoken English, given close collaboration with US-based marketing and sales stakeholders
- Experience managing digital asset management (DAM) systems, content libraries, and event logistics, such as webinars, trade shows, and client events
- PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification, and prior experience within an outsourced services, shared-services, or distributed team environment, are a plus
